A Bernedoodle is a wonderful dog to own. They are becoming more and more popular. It won’t be a problem with you falling in love with them. Thanks to not only how they look, but also the way they act.

There can be little doubt that adopting a dog and giving it a second chance in life. It is a special and wonderful thing to do. It leads to a special bond and form of love between you and your new dog. All of that is something that is going to stay with you for the rest of your lives together.

Why a Rescue Dog?

These dogs have ended up in a rescue organization through no fault of their own. You can give them another opportunity to go ahead and have a life. All they want is to have that feeling where they are loved. And to then be capable of loving their new family in return.

But then there’s also the fact that a puppy involves more work. You must be able to train them, and give them a lot more attention and care. When compared to an adult dog. That means adopting a rescue dog that is older will also be less stressful for many.

Overall though it’s the fact you get to save the life of a dog. That is the key reason why adopting a rescue dog can be so beneficial and such a good idea.

Why a Bernedoodle?

So why, out of the numerous breeds, would you want to adopt a Bernedoodle? Well, there are numerous reasons as to why this is such a great idea.

The main reason has to be their temperament. This breed is great fun to have around, and they are laid-back in their approach to life. They are the ideal family dog. They are also safe to have around children without you needing to worry about anything.

However, do be aware that a Berndoodle can be energetic. They have this strong desire to be loved and to love in return. They want to appease you. In next to no time your rescue dog will certainly feel like one of the family.

Teaching them new tricks will also be a joy. They see this as a great way to spend time with you. They are certainly intelligent enough to go ahead and learn various tricks without too many problems.

This is all great, but it does lead to its own set of issues. You won’t always find a Bernedoodle in a rescue organization. So you need to be willing to wait some time until one finds its way into these organizations.

However, to do all of this, you need to know the names of the organizations in Arizona. That may be able to help, and that is where we come in.

Arizona Poodle Rescue

While they focus more on the Poodle. The Arizona Poodle Rescue is one organization that you may want to contact when you want to adopt a Bernedoodle. They are based in Phoenix, but they do not have an actual shelter. Instead, they use foster homes across the area.

As they do not focus on the Bernedoodle, you are advised to make sure you contact them in advance and talk about your desire to adopt this particular breed. They will make a note of this, and can also take you through the adoption process, which will include their own checks.

Also, they have been in operation since 2003, and they will at least be able to assist you in your search for a Bernedoodle to adopt. They can advise you on other organizations in the area that they recommend, so while you may not be able to get a Bernedoodle directly from them, they may still be able to be of some assistance.

Underdog Rescue in Arizona

This organization deals with any breed of dog that needs help, and that does mean there’s a very real possibility of them coming across a Bernedoodle at some point in the year. They focus on rescuing and rehoming dogs of all shapes and sizes with the promise of giving them a better life.

This rescue organization does focus on areas of the East Valley, so keep that in mind when contacting them. Also, do remember that they may not always have a Bernedoodle ready to adopt when you approach them, but you can still go through the different checks that they put into place.

When they do have a Bernedoodle that is perfect for you, then there will be a fee attached to adopting them. It stands at $250 for a puppy, and $200 for an adult dog. That is to cover the fees that come with them having been checked by a vet along with the costs of caring for them until they are ready to adopt.

But this organization also does something slightly different in that they have a 2-week fostering period. That allows both you and the dog to get to know one another, and this is done before any adoption papers are signed. That way, everyone knows if this is a match made in Heaven.

Friends for Life Animal Rescue

The Friends For Life Animal Rescue deals in helping any breed of dog that has been a stray, is homeless or comes from an abused background. However, as they are a general rescue organization, they do not always have a Bernedoodle ready to be adopted.

Your best course of action here is to contact them in advance and let them know you are looking to adopt a rescue Bernedoodle. By doing so, you will be put onto their list, and they will then do their best to help you when a Bernedoodle comes through their doors.

This organization has been running for over 25 years, and they have helped in excess of 10,000 animals to be successfully rehomed during that time. They are based in Gilbert, but they will help people from a wider area as their main focus is on making sure that animals have a safe place that they can call home and where they are loved.

You will also need to contact them regarding their adoption fees, but rest assured that each dog is well cared for before they come to you, and they have been checked over by a vet. This includes their vaccinations, and they will then be ready to go to their new forever home.

Ghost Town Rescue

Ghost Town Rescue looks at helping any breed of dog that requires their help, so that will include the occasional Bernedoodle if they see one that is in need of some assistance. This organization does focus on rescuing dogs as well as taking them from high-kill shelters, and they do this across the entire State.

Their focus is on getting those dogs into loving homes, and they have managed to do this with a vast number of dogs. However, they will not always have the breed of dog you are looking for, and that’s going to mean you should contact them in advance to let them know of your desire for a Bernedoodle.

They do offer any dog from a puppy through to a senior dog, but each dog is checked by a vet, vaccinated, given any medication it needs, and also time is spent training them if they are lacking in that area. By the end, you have a dog that is ready to be brought into your new home.

Finally, there is an adoption fee to pay, and how much you pay does depend on the age of the dog. A puppy has a higher fee, but they do require more vaccinations than a senior dog which accounts for the difference.

Completing the Adoption Process

Each organization listed here has its own adoption process to be completed before taking the dog home.

What we recommend is to complete the adoption process with several organizations. That will increase the odds of you being able to adopt a Bernedoodle as they don’t specialize in that breed.

Most organizations follow the same lines with the adoption process. That means having your background checked, your home, any previous experience of caring for pets, and being of age.

But even with that there’s no guarantee you will be successful. They will make sure you meet the dog, and anybody else living in the home must meet the dog, and they then judge the reaction to see if you are a good fit. Just because you like the dog does not mean that will be the dog for you.

These organizations are all about giving a dog the best home possible. That means they put the interest of the dog first, so some patience may be required before you are able to take your new Bernedoodle home.

Sharing is caring!
